Throat problems
Having trouble with oral thrush yet again. Been on flucanazole 100mg a day for 10 weeks and also had difflam mouth rinse, nystan, and dakatarin oral gel and I still can't get rid of it. I've tried rinsing after taking my nebs and have now stopped the difflam as was told it was making it worse. Its been

Oral thrush
I know lots of people have posted about this in the past but would love some opinions. I take lots of inhaled steroids, seretide accuhaler and budesonide turbohaler, so don't use a spacer. I have never had a thrush problem. I saw the consultant on Friday, who looked at my throat, said it looked abit

Is this normal???
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to read this post. I'm a newly diagnosed asthmatic with hypersensitivity. The main triggers seem to be dust from building works and cold air from the ferrocious air con at work. I'm usually on 400mcg twice a day of budesonide, 120mg fexofenadine, 30mg lansoprazole and

Change of Inhaler...
However, having today picked up a repeat prescription this has been substituted for Symbicort, which in addition to 200mg of
Budesonide
also contains
Formoterol
, which we understand is a broncho-dilator (or reliever).

Budesonide & nebuliser
Hi I've been using my little omron microair to nebulise my pulmicort as I'd been advised so long as I added saline to it it would be OK. The NWLC are now querying if it is actually up to the job, the thinking being my asthma is out of control because I'm not getting the right dose. Does anyone else use

flixotide
I was on symbicort 400/12, budesonide 200, montelukast and flixotide 125. Last week when I went to see the nurse practioner my inhalers were changed to budesonide 400, oxis and montelukast because apparently they are not allowed to prescribe flixotide any more.It shouldn't have caused any problems because

More medication
Hi All, A month or so ago I wrote here about some side effects with Ventolin and Becotide. I have been to the doctor a couple of times since, and I'm now also taking Losec which helps with most of the side effects. I saw the my GP again today and he has also added Formoterol (Oxis) 12mg twice daily

My daughter is 3. She has a diagnosis of 'severe brittle asthma' and 'adrenal insufficiency'. She's on a daily dose of maintenance pred as well as nebulised Budesonide and a whole host of other things. Since going on the daily Pred, her daily symptoms have improved alot. She is able to play whereas

Feeling better already
I saw my GP yesterday and she changed my preventer from pulmicort to symbicort. I've only had a couple of doses but the addition of formoterol really seems to be doing the trick. Last night I had the best night's sleep I've had in ages and I'm feeling great. My peak flows are back up to my 610L/min pb

Has anyone had tests for Primary Ciliary Dyskenesia?
My little girl has alot of the symptoms of PCD and is probably going to be having a lung biopsy to test. She has been put on Budesonide nebs, which seem to have had an effect on her symptoms (altho it could be sheer coincidence as we havent given it the month that it usually is between attacks!) Has

Do Asthma meds make you immunosuppressed??
My little girl is taking Budesonide (pulmicort) 1mg twice daily as well as other things. This is a high dose considering she is only 2 years old but its keeping things at bay hopefully. Online information about Budesonide states it is a strong steroid that can leave you immunosuppressed. My concern

Would welcome some advice..
Hello all, I am seeking advice from you guys and gals so I hope you will take a few minutes to read through this and then give me your thoughts. Several years ago I used to suffer from a tight chest, mainly in the sternum area but also the ribs occasionally - in fact, I think I have been suffering

Any advice change in symptoms due to cold weather?
Hi everyone Hope you are all well My little girl, Holly, who's 6 is really struggling with her asthma just now and after trying to rule out everything else, I'm presuming its the not so nice icy air in Ayrshire just now. We managed to get her back onto flixotide and ventolin inhalers a few weeks ago

HELP!! Asthma and Osteoporosis?
Hello there everybody. I hope you are well. My name is Emma Mersseman and I am currently in my fourth and final year at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. For my dissertation I am doing a survey on the association of Asthma and Osteporosis and I am desperate for your help! I originally thought
