Rest is a healer and all of our treatments take so much out of us. Even if we look okay...fatigue is "normal."

I have trouble asking for help. Please ask me what you can do for me instead of leaving it up to me to call .

I felt as if I'd got to support them, they have been as shocked as I have. At a time when I felt as if I needed support, I felt that I'd got to 'put a brave face on' and reassure them. I've found that HU and our local support group gives us this space and time to just be ourselves and come to terms with things.

I had to comfort my friends & family too. I was glad to find your comment.

I don't think my family realizes how sick I can be. Maybe they don't want to believe that I am sick.

I'm sure that's right, they find it hard to take in too, often when we're struggling.

A local support group is great and online support is a lifeline, as is this forum. I made some friends on here, around 12+ years ago, who I'm still in touch with. .......but you all know that!

I felt there was a lot of pressure on us to reassure our family and close friends that we are OK when, in actual fact, we may not be but we put a brave face on and this may well be counterproductive because they then don't realise just how rubbish we do feel. It's a vicious circle really.
