I had already given up work to become a fulltime mum but it has not affected me returning to work as I have had 4 jobs in the last 7 years all of which I changed to suit working around my children. I always declare my medical history truthfully when applying for posts and it has never prevented me from getting a job :-)

Interesting to hear that. You have the advantage of relative youth!

I was aged 67 and not employed at the time of the event (discomfort in throat and feeling hot) which was diagnosed as a heart attack.

I have not sought paid work since as I fear that my week in hospital will be viewed very negatively by any potential employer who enquires about my health. (I know it is illegal to ask before making a job offer but ......)

I was off work for three months. A big reason for this was due to the side effects of the combination of 7 drugs I was automatically put on. I have felt increasingly well as I have been able to give them up. On returning to work I restructered the way I do my work seeing clients in the morning and early afternoon and doing admin and short appointments later in the day when I find I get tired.
