I remember experiencing this in my 1st pregnancy in 2008. I guess it's just growing pains. it dosen't affect the baby in any way but if the cramps become too much to bare use something like a deep heat rubbing balm which is usually used for muscle pain and rub it on your calf's the next time it happens again.

I've been taking calcium and magnesium tablets from Holland and Barrett, as I had awful cramp before! Was waking me up in the night in agony. I find that I don't get cramps if I remember to take them every day! Hope this helps! X

This is something that needs to be checked put in hospital - especially if you fell short of breath or get chest pain. Muscle spasm is the most common cause of such pain in pregnancy, but deep vein thrombosis should be ruled out with an examination to look gor any clinical signs and with an ultrasound scan. X

Tonic water hasn't contained quinine in any significant quantity for many years... Most tonic Has a flavour in it rather than Quinine, although premium tonics such as fever tree contains the real McCoy! (Tonic was originally a medicinal anti-malarial product!)
