I've been thinking of getting a tattoo for years, and now I'm finally ready and have decided what I want. I was all ready to book my consultation when it dawned on me that I'm breastfeeding and it might be somehow inadvisable right now.
Do any of you have any experience of this? Baby is coming up to a year and eats three meals a day, but is breastfed at nap times and during the night. What do you guys think?
Just want to stress that I'm not a completely selfish lady... have been planning this for years but pregnancy stopped me in the past. I just didn't even think about the breadtfeeding element until I was ready to go ahead!!
Any experiences and insight would be much appreciated. I've seen conflicting info online - some saying the ink won't pass into my blood, some saying most accredited tattoo artists wouldn't go near me while I'm still breastfeeding. So what do you think?

You could always give one a ring or a message. I had one when my LG was 3 months but I wasn’t breast feeding but don’t recall them asking me and they knew as I took her to book the appointment xx
Thanks for the reply. I was in touch with two places. One said it was fine and the other said they wouldn't do it whilst I'm still feeding, so looks like it'll be another wait to get it! I've waited this long so I guess another year one make much difference!
Why to take a risk, worse case if it got infected and you ended up on antibiotics or something it’s unnecessary for something which can wait maximum another year most likely you will wean before then! I’m in the same boat, I really wanted waited to stop breastfeeding and then got pregnant again!
