Hello

I have seen this in the press but I don’t know if it can be legally enforceable. Def worth checking out, maybe citizens advice??

They should at least reduce fees, my hubby and i are both key workers so our LO will still be going but i think our nursery wont charge for children that arent there, ultimately loads of businesses in same situation how can the nurseries charge full fees when people potentially arent earning their full earnings?!thats terrible x

No mine isn’t, fees are frozen from 01st April and any unused fees paid for in March won’t be refunded but will be credited to parents’ accounts. I just hope they get Government support so staff don’t suffer.

They shouldn't be charging parents anymore, after the govt announcement last night that businesses will be able to get financial help. You should write to them and question why they are still insisting on charging. It might be that once they've had a chance to process what happened last night then they will revise this anyway. Unless it's in your contract they can't enforce it but you might lose your place.

Ours were saying that they needed us to pay in full. Now that the government have announced help they are going to look at what that looks like this week and get back to us. My work is continuing to pay us even though me and the husband will need to reduce hours for childcare so personally I wasn’t bothered. If I do get refunded some I’ll probably take the money and use it for food banks or something else charitable for as long as I’m getting paid. My friends nursery said the same thing. I think before the government announced help they wouldn’t of been able to keep staff or a business going so I understand why they said it. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next week x

I had an email yesterday and they are asking for 25% which isn’t bad if your then getting the tax free childcare from government. My LG is still going so won’t apply to me yet x
