Over feeding!

My little girl is 5 days old she’s drinking 4oz every 3-4 hours is this normal? I’m constantly worrying that I’m over feeding her and she’s going to end up poorly? She seems so happy and content anything less than 4oz and she’s still really wingy and unsettled

My little boy was the same, I got told that if I’d over fed him it would come back up!! So I guess if she’s not bringing it back then she must be happy with what she’s getting xxx

I don’t think you can over feed a baby on milk. They either won’t take any more when they’ve had enough or they’ll be sick afterwards xx

It might be a good idea to speak to your health visitor when they do your 10 day check, you can't over feed a breast fed baby but if you know how many ounces she's taking I'm assuming you're bottle feeding? A bottle fed baby can be overfed as they can take on a lot more in a short space of time and they're not good at knowing when they are full. You could have a chat with your health visitor or if you've not been signed off yet your midwife for some advice.

I think my LG was taking that every 2-3 hours when she was that old. If over fed they sick it up but if your worried speak to your HV. Also if putting weight on ok then I wouldn’t worry x
