Having a bit of a rough time at the moment with mother’s day coming up! I had a miscarriage in September last year and have been really emotional this last week. Is anyone else feeling like this? I would have been about 8 months by now and getting ready to welcome my new little bundle of joy but I’m not 😪 however instead I am celebrating my little angel in the sky. I want to get something that I can have with me always but can’t decide what! Anyone have any ideas?

You’re not the the only one to feel like this. I had a miscarriage last year, two weeks before Mother’s Day. On mother’s day itself I felt I had to pretend I was ok whilst we went to my husbands family for the day and celebrated the day for his Mum. No one asked me how I was doing (they were scared they would make me cry but that just hurt even more) and all I wanted to do was curl up in a corner and mourn our lost child. I have purposely avoided arranging anything with my family or his this year so I don’t feel I have to pretend and can just treat today as a normal day. I am lucky that I am now pregnant again but it certainly doesn’t stop me getting upset about our angel baby on days like this.
I bought a little angel pin badge to carry with me - I have it in my bag at all times so I feel our lost baby is still with me. We also put together a planter for our garden which included a specially chosen rose plant variety called ‘our dream’. It’s nice to be able to look out on it and remember our baby.
I’m sorry to hear about your loss and your husbands family. The angel pin sounds like a lovely idea. We have a rose bush in my mums garden just waiting for it to bloom. They were the flowers I got when I lost mine so they have remained my favourite flowers forevermore xxx
