My wife wants me to wear a medical bracelet. What should I have engraved on it besides "Parkinson's"

My first one read "Parkinson's Disease Stemetil & Maxolon Contraindicated"

These are two common anti nausea drugs (or drugs similar) given by Ambulance and Hospital staff. They will mess up your PD badly as they work to actively block the dopamine receptors in your brain, because the part of your brain responsible for nausea floods the brain with dopamine making you want to throw up. So if you have had a fall or are in an accident the ER staff may not understand that these drugs may make your PD worse. And if they have to give you strong painkillers and anti nausea drugs so you can tolerate the pain killer, you may end up worse off.

My current one has changed only by addition of detail about my DBS implants.

Medical Alert Foundation in Wellington are part of the internationally recognised MedicAlert brand. They have options from basic membership to uploading details of your medicines to your living wills. I recommend them over any other.

Hope this is useful

Cheers

I am relatively new to Parkinsons so I have joined the "You are never to old" fitness activity program at AUT Akoranga

I went for my to my first session yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed the exercises and also i felt that the instructor was very good..
