Best drugs / treatment for Oesophageal dysmotility

Hi all I have had various tests over the years and drugs etc for dysmotility , I am on Omperzole 20mg x2 in morning and take Gaviscon advance in the evening. I was on Domperidone a few years back but had side effwcts. Just wondering if there is anything new about , I have a chronic cough and lots of mucus too . Had this since around 2009 .

Hi carolg1 Thanks for your reply I was taking Domperidone for a while maybe a year just over , the main side effects I had were raised prolatcin levels ,like really high , also palpitations and feeling faint but not all the time , I had a ecg as well as it can raise your long QT level on your heart, all ok there , and a MRI on brain as it can give you a tumour due to prolactin. The Domperidone did work , i was on a 5mg lowest dose , but due to all the side effects , stopped taking it . I get pain in my upper side right mostly at night . Yes I do have sinus problems and seem to be bad at the moment , worse than normal infections etc Not nice . Take care . Jog

Hi jog I have really bad sinus which is loading or should I say overloading the esophogus with mucus it’s so painful too but because of my copd puts a lot of pressure on my breathing and horrendous burning pains through my chest nothing seems to help laying on my right side eases it off it is completely disabling me because mostly I can hardly breathe xx

Hi carol yes same here it's the mucus and coughing , I dread getting a cold / flu or sinusitis that I I have now , 2 x antibiotics and nasal spray and 8 weeks just about going . I find if you tilt your head right back and cough into a towel for instance you can clear some of it ( not nice but it seems to work ) x
