A very common/regular query, I'm sure. Friend washes hands almost compulsively.He has a complicated family, in imo. Wants to free of them?

I do not have ocd.. but my fiance has, also has a very complicated family.. in fact when we went on holiday away from them,, he said his symptoms had almost dissapeared.. im not sure it this was temporary or not but I am sure just like doing the negative behaviours possibly due to negative environment/family,, anyone could recover away from the negative environment.. I feel anyone faced with constant stress will always compensate by doing something to try to relieve it..so you take the person out of the negative environment Im sure it would help in some way.. if I could I would just pick him up out of that environment at least it would be a break for the better !! I did have anxiety many years ago as a young adult and it happened after a year or more of stress related happenings. I fought it with willfull resolve.. Im very stubborn and refused to let it get the better of me. mindfullness meditation is a great help it trains us to control ourselves but in a very positive way.. really I would say its fantastic.. I hope you and your friend find what you want and need, kind regards
Thank you kindly for your response. Some does make sense, but as I can observe only as 3rd party, and wish to make no 'diagnoses' of my own, I can better try to understand words from those who have waded ...
