Do you feel that your doctor helps you understand your condition?

No information at all, just spoke about chemotherapy. No advice on how to help myself. I.e nutrition diet etc etc.

My doctor only explains briefly if a symptom arises but I have to do all the research myself. I like and respect him but he is overworked and constantly constrained by time.

Seek treatment at a dedicated Cancer Institute..they have access to the most recent treatments and therapies..and are often afilliated with a university or medical school for additional resources. Many such institutes in the US also have nurse navigators...who have more time to explain treatments, possible side effects, and offer additional resources such as exercise, support groups or counseling services.
