been awaiting a Public hospital appointment for past 10 months to see an immunologist. In Feb 2015, I was told I could be waiting another 6 months as I'm on a Category 3 waiting list. Why Category 3? Obviously because an appointment wouldn't lead to effective treatment for this poorly understood, often misdiagnosed, uncurable condition. So... meantime, I am neither able to claim Disability Pension nor the Old Age pension. I am still not fit for full time employment, and if I managed to get an interview, I doubt very much that an employer would hire someone with swellings or lesions in the face, and although I can cover my arms on the day, I always tend to rouse sympathy with 'oh what have you done to yourself', whenever I expose my upper arms and shoulders. My scalp has healed pretty well though, and I do feel a lot better since trialling Valtrex last year.
