Does anyone get pain along with tremors?

I am 20 years old and have tremors due to being on a high and a lot of asthma medication, I've noticed the tremors since I was like 9 and had multiple testings and it was just concluded it was linked to medication because they couldn't find anything else.

My tremors are predominately in my hands but when bad they can travel further up the arm to like the elbows. Some days I don't notice them and other days they are a real bother.

I am right handed and quite often I get wrist pain (the way i describe the pain is like a tension headache but in the wrist) and also sometimes the last two fingers and knuckles. I've had x-rays and tests ages ago for it and nothing came up and I was wondering does anyone else get pain and is it linked to the tremors?

I would question why because i rarely get pain in my left but I do most things with my right and i think the tremors are ever so slightly worse on the right.

To help in school i would use a laptop as I found writing too painful and my writing was awful and I couldn't keep up because of the tremors. I also now use a wrist brace i brought of amazon which seems to help i think it's the mixture of the weight/compression and the immobilisation. Whenever, I get pain my instincts makes me need to squeeze the wrist and hold it so the brace I think does that more efficiently.

So does anyone else get pain? I'm interested to hear about your tremor stories and what helps you with certain tasks too.

thank you in advanced!

Where to begin??? In 2012 my primary care referred me to a neurologist for tremors (mostly hands) as she was no longer comfortable treating them. After an extensive check up he dx me with Essential Tremor . He increased my dosage of propranalol and that helped for awhile. Later I tried other meds. in addition (gabapenton, topiramate, and primadone) these did not help that much so eventuallhy I had Deep Brain Stimulation surgery (DBS). That helped some. In 2015 I was also dx with MS.

I found that avoiding caffine helped, I also use weighted silverware, bought on amazon. My writing is a BIG problem and have found little that works. Best wishes to you.

Thank you for sharing your story, I’ve had tremors since a young age and I’ve never met someone apart from my grandad who had a tremor so don’t have anyone to relate to and get support from x

It’s quite difficult being the only one my age with tremors so it’s nice to hear someone’s story with them x

Having really bad asthma and tremors is a challenge but glad to have other people to talk to x

So do you find temors painful?
