It has certainly affected me for sure. Just prior to my diagnosis I was doing a job that i very soon realised I wasn't enjoying but the old sensible me ploughed on because you do don't you. Thankfully - very thankfully and slightly by coincidence I gave up my senior post just before I had my operation although i didn't know it was cancer at that stage. I carried on working at a junior level but it wasn't that much different and when id finished my treatment I gave my notice and went on relief. The old me would never have done that I would have only left if i had a permanent job to go to. It's caused me financial grief but i have to say that i have never really regretted it. The other area for me is hospital, I went for a second opinion and changed hospitals because of it, so I now travel 1hr 20m to hospital instead of 30-40m. Because i have recurrence my appts are still 3 monthly and often seem to involve other trips for scans etc. The car park is £4 for 1-2 hrs and time we've travelled and sat in hospital for an hour or so we want a bit of refreshment.
