I think I am a fairly positive person, but sometimes it is difficult to keep this frame of mind going.

As a human we are not always able to control our Mindset. Many things can influence it - some good some bad. But illnesses like Leukaemia influence the thought process for such a long time that it can be diff at times to see the positive.

It is very important though to try to look for something positive in each day, to try to change that negative mindset even slightly and help with the long days to come.

I have put on a picture of a ‘summers’ morning today in Scotland - it is indeed a good day for kite flying.

Have a great weekend.

I was about to post the "It's Friday!" post, but, Maybe this is better for this week. It is important to be positive but it is also positive to have a space to put all the difficult things. Otherwise, you end up with toxic positivity.

Anyway, we're all still alive this week. I am taking the kids out for Indian food tonight, as their Dad is away, and can't eat rice or bread so, wouldn't be able to come with us.

The kitchen people are coming next week to measure up.

The same day next week, I am taking J to the college open evening. He has a dream to study Architecture at UCL, so he wants to do 5 A levels, one of which is fine art at the college, as school don't offer it, but they do collaborate with the college. We'll see how well this will work with the Maths, Physics and Geography he also wants to do.

M is happy today because she has extra swimming lessons for the next few weeks, plus she went on the special trip this week. Each local school gets to take a small group and M's school picks kids who need the treat cos they are dealing with a *lot*. She had a lot of fun.

I am *exhausted* but, there is only one, easy, swap on the grocery delivery today, and see above for having achieved things anyway! I have chosen a lot of really good kitchen things, just struggling with colours! Have to love it for the rest of my life!

Anyway, hopefully I have positively spun!

Hoping everyone else is doing well today?

You have a busy time time just now then. Everyone around you seems busy too. Yes it is good to be positive, but don’t worry I am not one of those eternally bouncy people. Perfectly understand that the problems and difficulties in our lives need to be thought about and dealt with as best we can, and this is not always easy.

OH, here's a fun thing. I am making holiday journals for the kids. We are going to Crete in August (all being well) so I have made them journals. They are A5 exercise books with their names and the destination / date / a picture of said destination on the cover. The first few pages have facts about Crete, word searches, colouring etc relevant to Crete, maps and the story of Thesseus and the Minotaur and the rest is left blank for them to write about their holiday, and stick tickets / leaflets / postcards etc in. Which means I am currently 90% PVA glue, but they are always awesome to bring home and keep forever (I have one my grandparents made me make when they took me to Majorca, and I still love it, nearly 40 years later.

Some bounce is definitely good. Some space to not be bouncy *also* good.

What a fantastic idea! Also good for the flight to keep them occupied.

As for putting a positive spin on things, this is the place you don't have to do that. Just tell it like it is.

Or even Kite surfing maybe? :-) Agree it is not always easy to find the positive every day, but it sure helps with the long haul. It rained yesterday, was a good day for my garden, saved me much watering :-)🙂😀

Beautiful garden Nick! I don't know about yours but in mine everything seems to be flowering at once and the roses are out early. Hopefully it won't all be over by August...

That's a beautiful photo. I have beach envy as I would have loved to live by the sea. Where I am couldn't be much further away!!

It's really windy here too today so definitely kite flying weather!

Hi Ross, yes, I agree with you. I love your photo and what helps me to try and have some positivity is to go for my early morning walks round a rec, the river, a lock, a National Trust property or a Royal park.It makes me realise that the best things in life are free, it was a stunning glorious morning here, the sky was ever changing, the birds chattering, the squirrels scurrying about, the grass was cut yesterday, the dew etc.

I have my Walkman music playing in my ears.

It clears my mind, it sorts out problems, perhaps it puts things into perspective.

During the day and night my mind can be my worst enemy it is like a washing machine with the what if, when etc etc.

If I did not have the low days I would not appreciate days like today

I try and keep it in the day and today I am a very lucky girl

That sounds so good. Great that you had a good day yesterday. My day started off being positive and fell away badly. I went into work in the afternoon - big mistake- just made me realise why I am taking very early retirement in 2 weeks. Some people know how to manage people and some do not. However, I have regrouped my thoughts and we move on to another day.

The sun has disappeared in Scotland today - hopefully it’s back tomorrow.

Have a great weekend
