I think you need to read the pinned post .

The topic you raised comes under the " worried well " which seems to be a psychological condition that some people have when they simply can't accept that their negative HIV test results are correct .

Personally I think this is a subject that needs to be tackled on this forum , but admin thinks differently , and it's his page !

Griffin, I disagree, this page isn't to console the worried well of their worries, it's a forum to "support" people living with HIV!

"they simply can't accept that their negative HIV test results are correct" that is the problem that yes I agree needs to be tackled but this isn't the forum for that!

I suspect only Paul knows what he had in mind for the group when he set it up .

My own view is that the " worried well " do fall within the remit of those affected by HIV , as the fear of the virus is affecting their lives . This fixation on the infection is something that is a definite psychological condition that is obviously very real to the sufferer . These people do need help , and perhaps we should think about pointing them in the right direction if we can't do it here ?

To me it does have a place in this forum to discuss the issue , as apart from the obvious trying to help someone , there is a benefit to anyone else reading the posts looking for information .

Nothing is 100% certain , but if you have had three or four blood tests come back negative that's as close to 100% as you are going to get .

If you are interested in the subject , have you thought about doing some online research into the accuracy of HIV tests of your own ?

If you do maybe you would come back here and tell us what you have found out , and perhaps help other people going through the same distress ?

Makes people angry talking about psychological conditions, you guys sound so ignorant with that answers, people is not crazy if they said they feel something is because they really do! Ok not hiv fine! But suggest what can be, CMV, XMRV, maybe lyme?? But saying ahhh believe your results! So tupid of you, people is looking for help that's the reason they are here, and you guys or moderators answering stupid thinks, whats goin on?? Don't you read?? Don't you know about others std??

You are not helping!!! You just covering the true or you are the wrong people to ask.

Think you need to read back through what you have typed and see if you can understand it .

This is a page for HIV sufferers , it is not a page for any other STI or psychological issues . The people who respond to questions raised here do their best to give good advice and support to anyone with an HIV related problem . For advice on other conditions you need to go to the correct group that covers that health issue . It is no good getting all cross because that is how it works .

Griffin - I entirely agree with your response apart the use of the term ‘HIV sufferers’. I don’t ‘suffer’ from HIV, I live with it. Thanks for all your work
