My diagnosis will also be seven years this summer . I was having all sorts of health issues , which is what drove me to get tested . I was also diagnosed with Hep B .

I now think that the problems I was suffering at that time were mainly due to the Hep B , and it was because of the hepatitis that I was put on medication strieght away with a CD4of 350 . Whithin a couple of days of treatment I started to feel better .

I think the severity of Hep B tends to be underestimated as it is overshadowed by HIV .

Looking back I remember the sinking feeling when the nurse gave me the diagnosis , and how she watched me to see my reaction . It forced me to look at my own mortality for the first time in my life .

Seven years on at 63 old age is impacting on my life more than HIV !

Been diagnosed since 2006 and on Meds since '08 starting at <250 CD4... as Griffon says if you look after your meds and lifestyle then there are more worrying things in the world .. Nevertheless congrats Geo456 and enjoy the SW as it is a great place to live...
