I've been test and positive for hep c- had another test that said I was genotype 1a and vital load 1.2 million. My doctor has sent two referrals to specialist but they are waiting on the doctor to approve and except me as a pt.

what are the looking for? Has anyone else been waiting is this normal?

Becca

Hi Becca,

Don't worry, waiting time is usually few weeks/even few months in Uk to arrange appts

About that time in States too as I lived there two years

Your VL isn't that high

Mine has been four million

It can go up much more than that and your liver still be ok.

Official processes take time

Doesn't mean you're unsuitable in any way or anything wrong.

All good wishes for your recovery

Jenny

Its normal. I was 1a or 1b, they are the hardest geno types to kill but the new drugs now will kill it. Waiting is normal but you can always call in with a polite request if they know how much longer it will take, they may tell you the doctors name. You have a long road abead with great possible outcomes so try to relax and just do the footwork and the waiting. I remeber finding out so well. Its a lot for the mind to adjust to. Vest wishes
