I was diagnosed about 3 years ago and given two hearing aids. My partner doesn't show support, he keeps saying he's wasting his time speaking as I am ignoring him. This hurt. I did give him a leaflet explaining he needs to be facing me to talk, but he takes no notice and expects me to hear him when I am in a different room. I have no one for support. My own mother giggled when I first told her. She is off no help. My world can be a lonely one at times. It isn't easy having age related hearing loss when you are not eldery.
