Everyone encounters some form of stress in their lives. April is Stress Awareness Month. The National Institute of Mental Health describes stress as “...how the brain and body respond to any demand. Every type of demand or stressor—such as exercise, work, school, major life changes, or traumatic events—can be stressful.” During this month many organizations and individuals are bringing attention to the fact that stress is very real and can be very damaging to your health.
The American Psychological Association offers a tip sheet on how to combat and manage the stress in your life. How do you handle and cope with the stress in your life? Do you notice some methods work better for different stressors?
