The range is usually 20 - 150 nmol/l in the UK although different labs can have different tests and ranges.

Generally if your result is around 50 nmol/l the Doctors are normally happy - when ideally 75 nmol/l and above is the ideal. Anything lower than 15 nmol/l is severely deficient and means you would normally be prescribed a vitaminD injection to boost your levels and then a course of vitamin D supplements to take regularly to increase your levels. Low levels of Vitamin D have been associated with MS, Diabetes and Thyroid problems so it's important as a coeliac to boost your levels. As the stomach is involved in processing VitD we're often deficient at diagnosis.

You really need to talk your results through with your Dr and check that you understand the results and going forwards how they'll review that they're good i.e. annual coeliac check up and blood tests.

More info:

"numeric test results can have different meanings in different labs.

For these reasons, you will not find reference ranges for the majority of tests described on this web site. The lab report containing your test results should include the specific reference range for your test(s). Please consult your doctor or the lab that performed the test(s) to obtain the reference range if you do not have the lab report."
