I’ve noticed recently that having taken Ganfort drops for about a year, if I go up steps to a train station quickly or walk up a steep hill, I get quite breathless and it takes a while to recover. I don’t think I’m that unfit, I go to the gym regularly. Could it be the drops causing it? If it is, I don’t know what the alternative would be. My consultant wants me on the maximum dosage.

Breathless on Ganfort drops
I had to stop taking Ganfort due to breathlessness and whole-body weakness. I only managed less than three weeks on it and my consultant has said she won't prescribe it again to anyone who (like me) has had a previous bad reaction to Beta blockers. Timolol in Ganfort is the beta blocker.
She has put me on the list for SLT, the laser treatment which I am delighted about. In the meantime I continue to use Latanoprost eyedrops.
I hope you are able to find a good solution.
I too used Ganfort and have no side effects, I do have other health problems which are also not down to Ganfort, I have been using it for about 5 years now and was diagnosed 10 years ago, speak to your consultant and tell them what is going on, hope things get sorted soon best wishes
I can’t take Timolol. I had the same issues as you. Breathlessness on any kind of activity. My heart rate dropped to 40 at rest and barely hit 100 when active. There are other combinations you can try to control your pressures.
I am not sure if theTymolol I was using has the same mode of action as the Ganfort you were using, I was having dizziness, and my blood pressure (the body pressure) was 93/ 58 so I asked my eye doctor to discontinue it, he did not accept . I discontinued it myself and I only use Latanoprost.
