Hi folks, just wanted to share my week of wonderfully fantastic experiences, I did mean to post on Sunday at the end of my week; unfortunately health got in the way, but we're not going to dwell on that.
Living in the city has it's draw backs highlighted by 'Corona Virus', and although we have plenty nature filled areas to visit, there is always that 'Hhuummm' of humanity; although even now, a year into this mayhem, the birdsong can still be heard over the traffic at times, I dread the day that it is totally swallowed by everyone "getting back to normal!". I do hope we can all build a new normal, a happy balance for all humans to live equally and with the goal to sustain, this beautiful environment we have at our disposal and each and every creature on it.
My Husband had holidays to use at work so he'd taken last week off, what absolutely brilliant timing eh! He gave us all(our daughter, son in law and myself) a proper spring holiday, we went for a picnic at Inveruglas followed by 99's from Luss, we had a BBQ at Firkin-Point and visited the Kelpies at Helix Park. It was just so nice to go somewhere different, and to hear nature at her very best, I hope you enjoy some of my sights from our adventures.
I am so extremely thankful to have had this opportunity, I feel it came at exactly the right time, having not been anywhere outwith the city since September. Witnessing wildlife not seen in such a long time (it seems), to hear such a variety of birdsong, to just sit and soak up the sound of the lapping water on the shore, to invigorate one's self having a shot on a tree-swing you come across, the communal enjoyment of the little things, like ice cream on a sunny day, to feel the icy cold water on your toes, to sit in the sun with smiling loved ones around; certainly does wonders for the soul.
I hope you are all still coping and able to find enjoyment in the little things, It does actually look as if we could be heading out the other side of all this chaos, if our vaccines can withstand all new strains I suppose; once everyone is vaccinated I'll be happy to be minglin' among y'all, goin' for a wee cocktail perhaps and a bit of a skank (it's just no the same at home), it'll be a while yet mind. Although I've had my first vaccine, I'm still extremely wary, I could bring it home and give it to three who are still waiting to get their's, plus is there any evidence yet that people with health issues will definitely not suffer symptoms after being vaccinated?
Anyhoo, Keep doing what you can when you can, every little thing is something, remember and be kind to yourself.
Stay safe, keep well and be strong.
