Depo Shot.

Hello. I decided to have a go of the depo shot injection, in the middle of November 2016. After 3 months, I did not go back to have another injection. Still to this day (Jan 2018) I have not bled, or been ovulating in any way. Is this normal for some people. I do believe that It can take 12-18 months for your body to adjust back to normal-but I’m feeling worried!

If you have any doubts, I would definitely recommend going back the same GP or nurse that did your Depo -injection. If your contraceptive is working despite not going back for the next shot, then clearly your body has adapted to it extremely well and why you are not seeing any signs of menstruation since the first shot. The only time I would possibly be worried is if you are menstruating at all - even spotting, as a strong indication that you could possibly conceive whilst the body is counter-producing and overriding naturally occurring FSH and LH hormones - FSH and LH levels are also useful in planning the type of hormone treatment you should have and when GPs decide what the dosage of the individual contraception you should ideally be administered.

If you missed your shot appointment, I would be in the position that I would want to re-schedule it just to be 100% certain that I were getting the right amount of FSH and LH levels to prevent counter-hormone imbalance and unwanted pregnancy.
