Love Peter Attia! He has such a forward thinking approach and what we need to get to reach Medicine 3.0. And he's also humble enough to say when his thinking was wrong and why.

Cancer! We don't test early enough. It's a numbers game.

We don’t test enough period! I see to many of us first diagnosed with PSA in the hundreds. Myself I have been testing every year for 15 years prior to diagnosis and it still metastasized.

That's becoming more and more evident with the 10, 15 and 20 year studies. The increase of more significant disease is in line with the USPSTF guidelines against screening and barely raising the bar in 2018. It's as if they want to only treat prostate cancer when it's in their face!

The docs who wrote in a very loud opposition to their recommendations called this trend almost 15 years ago. They said something along the lines of - you (USPSTF) don't address high risk populations nor do you address the benefits of intermediate and high-risk disease men. These decisions will set us back 20 years of progress.

That reminds me that I stopped taking metformin and was using berberine instead. Need to get back on the berb.

Also been meaning to watch Peter A on reading scientific papers.

I'm a huge fan of Attia as well. Love his discussions/research into a longevity we can enjoy both mentally and physically.

Why did he quit Metformin?

That discussion on the Metformin studies was very interesting, Scout. (Huberman's part about belief I did not get anything useful from.) So I looked up a previous Peter Attia article on Metformin and exercise.

As a result of reconsidering all this I decided to drop my Metformin for now. I'm metabolically healthy anyway so don't need it for that. I am getting a VO2 Max exercise test at end of next week. (Don't expect it to be stellar!) Paul

Glad it was of interest to you Paul.

Will be interested in hearing what your VO2 numbers.

I am almost 3 months into the Body by Science workouts you suggested. I find my energy level remains high and with the exception of some brain fog and minor emotional mood swings I continue to be avoiding most of the ADT side effects.

Coco commented that my biceps seem to have more definition lately, then with out skipping a beat she challenged me to an arm wrestling contest. I just laughed but she was serious, she really thought she could win.

At a family gathering my son said that his son , now 16, had beat him at arm wrestling so I thought that would be a perfect venue to take on Coco's challenge.

Her arm is shorter so I gave her a book to put her elbow on. I thought it was the gentlemanly thing to do. We started and I was just toying with her, letting her make progress and then taking it away. I took her almost to a pin and then let her survive. I played with her back and forth for a few minutes and then let her get my arm half way down. BIG MISTAKE! Next thing I knew she was out of her seat and putting the full weight of her yoga body on top of my arm as she pressed it into the table. She claimed victory and would not consent to a rematch. I could not stop laughing. This is one competitive Woman.

I think I will keep her anyway.

I started docetaxel 08/22 and my glucose imploded, my wife had my primary put me on 500mg Metformin daily, so the chemo docetaxel can get passed the glucose into cell…

it worked

On my radical prostatectomy and lymph node removal no lymph nodes had pca in them, one showed chemo docetaxel but no psa /pca

I still think Metformin helps adt work better. Period
