Hi. I am new to the group and am taking g Methotrexate and Hydroxychloroquine and am concerned about hair loss. I wonder if anyone has had any success with supplements, oils, etc. My Methotrexate has been reduced and I take folic acid 6 days each week.

I’ve not heard of hair lossconnected to those drugs before so I must have been lucky. I’ve been on “H” for about 40 years and MTX for 30. In the latter case I was on 22.5 for most of the time but when I came out of hospital in March 2020 it was reduced to 15 although I may soon go back up to 20. I have come across icu patients who have lost their hair. In their cases it eventually grew back and some found giving it a really good cut encouraged to to grow back. So sorry I can’t help

YesI built up from 25mg to 25mg orally and then was on 20mg Methotrexate a week ( I think) Hair loss was quite a feature for me. + headaches brain fog, ulcers. I asked to come off it as had turned into a zombie. The hair loss stopped along with the other symptoms when I stopped methotrexate. Have weaned back on to 10mg now of MTX and have continued taking hydroxychloroquin throughout. I also now take Benepali (7 jabs in) which is working. Headaches from both and cut hair short as had so many different lengths and fine wispy regrowth. But am beginning to be a human again. Current regime is 10mg MTX,

200mg Hydroxy chloroquine, 50mg Benepali (Etanercept) + folic acid and Etoricoxib. + Omeprazole to protect stomach etc.

I have found less MTX seems to help with hair loss but no MTX does not support Biologics to keep working🥴. Good luck
