Most FASD events seem to be outside of my area. Does anybody know of anything happening in Devon? Would anybody be interested if there was?
It's a problem in rural areas isn't it? We are in mid Wales and the same thing is true here. I have found that being part of a Facebook page for various issues is quite supportive - you get to join in a virtual community at least, and then can support each other that way. Anybody interested in doing it "remote" It's a good way to sound off or share sucesses, but obviously PM for any more personal stuff?
The FASD Trust is working hard to set up support groups and we are looking at one in Wales, probably South Wales and one in Devon is coming soon..... Sorry, guys, we are going as fast as we can, but part of the issue is money in that, unfortunately, it costs to hire halls, refreshments, etc and while people are generous and give discounts, etc the costs can quickly add up. We also have a staffing issue at present, but hope to announce new recruits soon.
