Hi! I'm new here :)

Hi everybody!

I would like to share a bit about me: I have been married for 15 years with a great man. Our only child is 10 years old (I'm 47 now and my husband is 49). However we think it would be nice to have a new member in our family. Because of my age, we started to consider adoption, as an option. We found out as much as possible about the process and joined a huge “line” to adopt a child. We got to know some couples who dealt with the same problem. These new meetings were supposed to make our life easier, but, in fact, it made it even more complicated: one couple have been waiting to adopt a child a long-long time…. So it became a bit difficult to count on adoption. And when I was almost about to accept the fact that we are not going to have more children, my husband came across one of those videos, where a woman is telling about her own experience of getting a child (the surrogate motherhood was what she had experienced). He came to me so inspired, the woman sounded so convincingly while describing all what she`d gone through with surrogacy process. However I haven't done my mind yet. I wonder if any of you have gone through a similar experience?

Hi Lily nice to here from you. You are lucky to have a 10yr child and I am very happy for you. How nice of you to be planning to extend your family. All the best go ahead. I am also exploring surrogacy. But my reasons are different from yours. I have had multiple miscarriages in the past and no positive news coming our way. So to have our family complete we are planning to go for surrogacy. I will keep you posted on any updates and would love to keep in touch with you - Lisa

Hi lisababy! Thank you for your reply and your good vibes. It is comforting to know there are other strong women out there and that there is still hope. Sorry to know about your miscarriages and all you have been through.

We are getting information about IVF and surrogacy too. I think surrogacy will be the best option but I still need to check with my doctor. My husband and I are still thinking about it. It is a really hard decision. Probabilities of success are high though. That keeps me motivated to try. We should never lose hope.

Please, don't give up and keep on trying and I'm sure you will have great news soon. I would love to keep in touch with you too :)

Hi Goldena,

Sorry to know all you have been through. I can't even imagine how awful moments you had to face. I'm glad to know you found another way to finally be a mom :) Could you tell me more about all the process with the surrogate mother? Specially about the egg donation? It sounds like a hard decision. I'm into a similar situation.. and having some talks with my husband about it. We are 75% convinced in going for surrogacy with DE, but there are still some doubts...Not about the procedure or the prices.. but the feelings.. How could you describe your experience in this matter? It would really help to know more details from you :)

I have a 1 yr old baby boy.....He was born after I had three failed rounds of IVF. I was mentally and psychologically weak and could not try another time. That is when I decided to opt in for surrogacy. The quality of my eggs was not so good therefore we accepted it and decided to move on. We used donor eggs but I am often told that my son looks exactly like me. I also have a 5 year old son who was born through the normal route. I feel more connected to him because he was born after a lot of effort. My husband and family were very supportive.... we did do a guaranteed frozen eggs program!

I hope everything works out for you like it did for me. My baby boy is one of the best thing that ever happened to me. If you take my advice you should opt in for surrogacy with unlimited attempts like I did in a Ukrainian clinic called Biotex. It is always better to choose a clinic which offers multiple attempts in a reasonable amount. Also make sure that the surrogate you hire signs a refusal contract. Overall, surrogacy is a viable positive option for all couples who are considering it.

Good luck to you and god bless you.

Hi sandrineuye... I'm happy to know you are blessed mom with two children. Your story is great. Also to know you did it through surrogacy gives me hope. Your clinic was recommended before and it seems a really good place. I didn't know they had an unlimited attempts program!

It is important to know about the refusal contract too.. I had this concern..because.. what if the surrogate mother wants suddenly to keep the baby? That would be devastating.

It is interesting to know about your bound with the baby conceived through the surrogate mother. This proves that mother & son's love is not related to blood.

Thank you for sharing your valuable story.. x

Hallo Lily, I am sorry for the delayed adoption. However, u still have surrogacy which is a good procedure to get a child too. I haven't tried adoption but surrogacy was my solution after 5 years primary infertility. My daughter was born through surrogacy. We used the daddy's sperms and a donor egg. Mine weren't viable. In Ukraine, surrogacy is legal and bio texcomclinic makes tthe process as simple as a finger snap.

The surrogate mother we choose was oh so healthy. She was a strong woman too. When the contract between her and us was signed, she agreed to surrender our child immediately after birth. At first, I thought the child will have difficulties bonding with us but I was wrong.

I would advise you to make up you mind as life testimonials are out here. Personally, I respect the services I received which made me a mother.

Also choose your clinic wisely.

Hi Grael! Thanks for your insight! Happy to know you were able to have a daughter through surrogacy.

Your case looks similar than mine. I was not aware of some details about surrogacy though. After you sign the contract with the surrogate mother..and then when the baby is born.. do you have any contact with the surrogate mother or is it done everything through the clinic?

Hi! I'll drop into to share a couple of things. I suppose this gideline would be helpful for ladies considering surrogacy. The process starts with the initial consultation. It is to be scheduled at least 1 week ahead and contains the following activities. A set of tests depending on the program. Consultation with a fertility specialist who will be in charge of your program (in case of stimulation you will need to have the transvaginal ultrasound check done). Consultation with a manager who will guide you through the program step by step. Signing of contracts. First payment and also you will receive the guidelines - failure to follow these recommendations may affect the initial consultation in a negative way. Another step search and confirmation of a surrogate mother, matching process (waiting time also depends on type of contract). After you sign contracts and make the first payment, the medical team starts the selection process that includes:

Initial pre-selection by the local coordinator

. Consultation of the fertility specialist. Consultation of a psychologist. Legal consultation and verification of documents. Screening for possible addictions (urine and blood tests). This check-up process, including all necessary tests and exams, takes about 1 month.

Then stimulation and synchronisation stage (usually about 2 weeks). The cycle of egg donor or the biological mother is synchronised with the cycle of a surrogate mother. In case of self-treatment or violation of the treatment protocol, the clinic may cancel the cycle and terminate the contract.

Fertilisation and embryo transfer. This is when donor’s/biological mother’s eggs are retrieved and fertilised by the sperm of a biological father. After fertilisation the embryo development is monitored by our embryology unit. You are to receive the protocol of embryo cultivation and transfer within 3 working days after the embryo transfer. Then HCG test and pregnancy confirmation. The HCG test takes place 2 weeks after the embryo transfer. The surrogate mother has her test in a clinic. The first ultrasound scan is carried out in 2 weeks after the positive HCG test by the doctor. The report will be send the same or the next day after the check. Pregnancy monitoring. What you can expect during this time:

Monthly ultrasound checks from the 12th week of pregnancy. Reports along with video and/or pictures will be send the same or the next day. For trisomy screenings, results will be send within 5 working days. Trisomy 13, 18, 21 – on the 12th week of pregnancy . Trisomy 18, 21 – on the 16th week of pregnancy

Delivery of the baby and obtaining of the birth certificate for the baby (up to 1 week). Hope this helps. Good luck!
