Am I wrong for stopping them going?

So long story short my children who are 9&7, see their father every weekend from Friday till Sunday.

Sunday 24th of November my eldest came home from his dads to tell me his dad said he was going to ‘snap his jaw’ if he didn’t stop misbehaving in boots. Christian replied to his dad saying ‘you’ll go to jail’ his dad replied ‘you’ll have to tell the police first’

Christian my eldest seemed very upset and shook over what his dad had said.

So I messaged his dad on my mothers FB and asked if this happened, he said yes but said it as a joke.

But I don’t see that as a joke. Especially it being said to a child.

I thought it was best the kids stay at home on weekends for a while as I’m a little worried.

Their father as always had a very bad temper and violent behaviours.

I asked the kids if they wanted to see their dad under supervise contact which would of been with my mother at her house as I don’t have contact with their dad due to his violence and bulling behaviour.

But the kids didn’t want to see him at all.

Am I wrong for stopping contact at the moment?

Please no hate.

Thank you

I think they’re at an age to make that decision themselves. Keep asking them the question and giving them the choice. Good luck xx
