Would you be interested in attending healthy bladder ... - ERIC
Would you be interested in attending healthy bladder & bowel training for parents & carers if this was something we could get funding for?
Bowel health is what I would be most interested in...
The help we receive from the GP is very poor, and previously non-existent from other GPs.
We need support, signs to look out for, possible triggers etc.
On our last visit to the GP he said “ when he wets get him to change his own bed, that usually does the trick” I was mortified. My 11 year old son seemed very sad when we left the surgery.
I’m still not convinced that we have tackled the problem as effectively as we could.
My son has never had a ‘sleep over’ because he’s too worried that he’ll wet. So sad. He is dyslexic and has enough to deal with!
He is now at a new private, very small, secondary school and they are very kind which helps a lot. He is never refused permission to go to the toilet etc...
As a Continence nurse, I think this is a brilliant idea. In my experience there is little NHS support for children with Continence problems.
Very true. It’s so hard to get help. We are just getting help for our five and a half year old after people saying it was a potty training problem. Her bladder is overactive and she hates wetting several times daily. They’re just starting to take it seriously after years of fobbing us off.
This is an excellent idea.
I wish I had had the opportunity to attend an ERIC training seminar as a School Nurse. Perhaps it could be incorporated in the School Nurse training course.
I attended it in Cardiff about this time last year when you ran it. It was great. Thanks so much.
I think this is a fantastic idea. Parents are often brought to their knees with the stress and frustration of these conditions especially where there is little support. I hope funding is found.
Yes for bowels I would be interested in.
Would be interested in incontinence of urine .very little help and years of the n.h.s to get anywhere .
This is a great idea. I would attend if this became available
Bowel health is the most important one to me as my 4yr old daughter has been suffering with childhood constipation since she was a newborn she also multiple food allergies x
There needs to be more support for parents and children my daughter would benefit from meeting other children so she doesn't feel like she's alone
