Hello All

I have just starting having seizures over the last 3 years. I have only had about 6 seizures, but I am still yet to see a Specialist about them. I am in my late 40's and have no idea why this could have happened to me at this stage of my life. Has anyone experienced this, and is of a similar age? And have they seen a Specialist and what was the outcome?

Look forward to hearing from anyone who is in a similar situation.

Thanks

Hi Fiona,

I have had epilepsy now for 42 years and am now 58 years of age. Epilepsy can start at any age and could be due to stress, a hit on the head from many years' ago, anxiety, tiredness, flashing lights, i.e. television, movies etc., and so many more reasons.

My advice for you is to keep a diary of any seizures you may experience, any weird side effects, any odd feelings and more so these can be discussed with the Specialist etc. when you visit. It means going for testing, living on medication which can also affect one's body with different side effects and generally adjusting one's life style.

Keep us posted as to what the Specialist says and all the best.

Les
