Really worth a read. Jill Stark gets sober, becomes famous writing about it, then tries going back to drinking in moderation.
Search on the founder of Moderation Managements founder Audrey Kishline. You will see simillar story of how tragic the life ended for Audrey. There is a better way. AA has a decent chance. Even Atheist have found some solace in AA. They believed in the 12 steps and used that as their HP.
I’m an atheist and AA was one of my two higher powers. It did for me what I couldn’t do for myself. It humbled me when I realized that what I thought knew, I didn’t know at all.
Great story and a lot of insight. Thank you, HeavyFoot.
Thanks for posting. It was interesting to read. I wonder when we will see 'sober curious' bars pop up in England. I'd like to say as a teen I'd have gone but I probably wouldn't have because I looked for escapism in which ever form but I certainly access them now.
