Is this a permanent or temporary arrangement? Would you like to change it or did you choose it? How has it worked out for you? Do let us know what this means for you.

I have a permanent fistula now but when I started HD I had a temporary neckline in place - done as an emergency measure and had the fistula formed in the same week. I prefer my fistula as its less noticeable than the neck lines were and I don't have to worry about getting it wet (bathing swimming etc) like I did with the neckline. The only advantage of the neckline to me was that it allowed me to have both hands free when dialysing to do different activities. I was very relieved when they started using the fistula and I could have the neckline removed!
