i have parkinson's diease wanted to know about new meds avalible age 55 some meds not generic im seeing a neurologist on several meds

most new drugs are not generic and won't be till their patents expire. Seek out a support group near to you and attend a few meetings. For information go to pdf.org.
Educate yourself to be a better patient and if your neuro is not a Movement Disorder Specialist, ask for referrals.
I have come to the conclusion that NOBody understands this disease.
Wayne by inert are you saying the pill is ineffective? Can you give any reference for this? I'm not quite sure about generics i know there are possible differences but not aware they are quite as you describe.

I deleted my post due to old info and a very bad experience. FDA does NOW require that generics meet same standards as brands. That was not always the case in the history of generics I can very much attest. Almost died from bad generic meds in 1999. They did not work but the real ones did!!! Laws are changed now as I researched per your post. Thank you for enlightening ME making me relook into this area I was not comfortable with. I never take generics but will now after this.
This is not my understanding, which is that generics must contain the same proportion of molecules of active ingredient as the original brand. (The situation is more complex in the case of 'generic' versions of biological drugs, so-called biosimilars). Can I ask Wayne, what is the source of the information you have given for the effectiveness values? If original brands where 99.8% effective than generics with only 60% effectiveness would never be prescribed, despite the lower purchase price.

My requip xl now comes in generic big help on pocketbook can't tell any difference.
Fillers and coatings can be different. I had substitute for my regular amantadine (pink. uncoated tablet). Substitutes were two different coated tabs. One was red and the other yellow. One of the substitutes gave me hallucinations of beautiful patterns of fabric in bright colors that revolved and changed shape. They also made me feel spacey so I stopped. But what a show! , My daughter told me I "tripped".

I experience this as well and now the hallucinations are of animals, etc... ~~Dennis
Amantadine is known to cause hallucinations in some people and usually the dose is lowered until your new furry friends go away. I have known people to get quite attached to their animal visitors and miss them when they go!
