Intimacy and sex are not hand and glove.

You can have intimacy without sex...holding hands, a warm embrace, a long kiss, all feed the human need for connection.

Sex doesn't require intimacy and can be more or less recreational.

I think some men confuse sex with intimacy and plenty of women withhold sex when their emotional needs are unmet.

Chronic health conditions can make intercourse impossible. In healthy relationships, illness can make the emotional connection deeper, stronger and more intimate.

Isn't love and connection what we all really want?

I didn't read the article, this is my unbiased opinion.
