Parkinson's and DCA (Dichloroacetate)

I have accidently come across DCA which is supposed to turn the mitochondria in our cells back on. It is currently used as a cancer treatment but has anyone heard of its use for Parkinson's? I have searched this site but can't find any information.

Thanks but some research indicates that DCA improves cells by turning on the mitochondria. If so it should also help with brain cells that have been screwed by alpha synuclein.

Why is DCA toxic?

DCA appears to inhibit its own metabolism, which may influence the duration of its pharmacologic actions and lead to toxicity. DCA can cause a reversible peripheral neuropathy that may be related to thiamine deficiency and may be ameliorated or prevented with thiamine supplementation.
