Hello chuck bob, you can’t claim both at the same time but check it out online anyway. Take care xxxxx
If your below pension age it’s now pip and if live on own can get careers premium that’s paid to your self
If you over pension age I think you claim attendance allowance BUT am not 💯 % on that.
Hi according to the disability rights handbook you can receive carers allowance as well as DLA , attendance allowance & PIP. Other benefits may be affected by the overlapping benefit rule which means you can only get which ever benefit is Highest in your circumstances. Hope this helps and you can understand what I mean.
Hello chuckbob,
Check out our pinned posts section on 'Carer's Allowance-what are the rules', also, check out the gov.uk website for more information: gov.uk/carers-allowance
Hope this helps,

Hi, If DLA is the same as Attendance Allowance, then a carers allowance can be added providing the claimant isn't earning over approx £120 per week or doesn't have a pension payment. Even a pension payment takes them over the allowance. I got so far down the application road before I hit the "means test" question.

It's PIP now, not DLA, and I think you can get PIP mobility along with Carers Allowance, although unsure if you can if you get the care component of PIP yourself.

Hi
Regarding dla, pip and aa is
DLA is a benefit payable up until you are 16. PIP is paid from 16to 64. AA is paid from 65. There are some other rules such as
PIp is a benefit that is replacing DLA for people between 16 and 64. Some people are still in the change over stage. Some people who got DLA or PIP before they were 64 can still remain on it when they reach 65.
You can claim carers allowance and Pip or DLA or AA but as stated before there are a lot of other rules to consider with regard to carers allowance. The obvious thing you do have to think about though is what caring are you doing if you have ability limiting conditions? Do you need to seriously consider whether or not you might need to approach social services to see if you qualify for a needs or even a carers assessment service.
Best of luck
