I want to share a really motivating story of my friend for all the heartbreaking women out there. She was not getting pregnant after her marriage. She went to the doctor for the checkup. They told her that she had a cyst on her ovary. Unfortunately, it was of a serious nature which was necessary to be operated. Doctors did the operation. While doing the operation mistakenly made a larger cut which damaged her ovary. She became infertile. I can remember the pain she was going through at that time. Doctors were not ready to accept that it was their fault. they said that it was a different type of case in which the ovary was bound to get damage. One of her friends suggested her to go for Surrogacy. She went to biotex for the treatment. She is now having her baby. And guess what it is their biological baby.

Thank you for sharing this story. I take a couple of lessons from it.

1- If what the doctors said was true they should have had a complete discussion with her before she agreed to have the surgery. It is the doctor's obligation to be sure that they have told the patient about the potential positives and also the negatives.

Always be very specific and ask what could go wrong.

2- Perhaps if she had gotten a second opinion before making a decision to have the surgery she might have had been better informed. It is important to get at least one second opinion whenever you have a serious medical problem or are contemplating a major medical procedure.

A good resource about doctors and cancer is at CancerABCs.org, specifically, the sections titled "Your Healthcare Team.
