Hi all. I'm new to this site. I was diagnosed with nafld & mild cirrosis in dec 2012. I have the genetic heamachromatosis & I'm clinically obese. Bmi is 41. I had scans last week. Ultra sound showed no change but fibroscan had jumped from 10.9 to 33. The technician took 3 reading all of which were different. Since being diagnosed I have got my liver function tests back in normal range. Except for the billarubin, it was 34 but now 21. Portal vein is clear & no varices or acetes. I have had thrombocytopenia since 2015 but my platelets have gone up to 109. My consultant said my liver function was remarkable so I was upset when FB was 33. My main question is, is a fibrscan accurate in obese patients I've googled it big mistake freaked me out. Back on diet now.
