Good evening

There is certainly research going on into the use of NAC (N-acetyl-cysteine) for fatty liver disease but please note that NAC is a medication that should only be used if it is prescribed by your doctor. A discussion with your medical team regarding risk/benefit would be helpful so that you can make an informed choice if it is offered to you.

regards

NAC in the USA is bought over the counter. No prescription needed. Very cheap to.

That is interesting to know.

However ease of availability does not necessarily mean that it is advisable to use it. It can have side effects and if not used appropriately may do more harm than good. Definitely something to discuss with medical team first before embarking on !

I have been trying to get hold of my doctor but it seems impossible. The nutritionist who my Hepatologist referred me to was the one who recommended the NAC. Perhaps I should wait until I can be in touch with my doctor. Thank you for your responses!

Hi. Yes, i am familiar with it, as I've been supplementing my diet with it for my fatty liver. I have noticed that I feel a lot more relaxed. I was curious what that was all about, so I hopped on Amazon to read some reviews of the product, and it turns out that it is also recommended for people with Tourettes disorder.

Even thought it is used for liver detox, I am guessing there is a neurological connection
