I had my blood liver tests, they came back with ‘abnormalities’. My doctor arranged for an ultrasound. Got cancelled due Covid, be worried?

I think it’s routine to check further to try and find out a cause for abnormal blood test results, unfortunate there’s a multitude of possible causes and sometimes they don’t even find a cause.

It is annoying that routine appointments have been delayed due to the virus so I guess all you can do is wait. Don’t google too much either, perhaps try to forget about it until you get your appointment date, easier said than done but better than constantly wondering what’s the matter x

Coincidence that I too have had tests stopped, because of covid. I'm halfway through a possible diagnosis and on Tues(bank holiday mon), I am going to chase this up. NHS is open and they keep on saying to come if any health concerns. I know NHS isn't 'properly' open, eg X-rays/scans, or even face to face appts, but as I was told I 'could have advanced liver disease,' I am waiting no longer.

There are many reasons for altered blood results, and if you have an idea why, change that now while you wait. Mine is due to medication, so I can't stop that.

Either way I hope your outcome is good, and easily fixed, as most issues are.

Thank you, I hope yours is good news too I phone a friend who works at the xray Dept at my local and she said they are following up on cancelled appointments this week!

I had this last summer and the Ultrasound was clear and the levels eventually went down with no explanation. I’m not a drinker but drank as a young person.
