Non-Urgent

Hey guys, I had my Ultrasound on Monday and I phoned up today for results and was told to make a non-urgent appointment with my doctor (which ive done) and the receptionist couldn't tell me anyting other than it was filed non urgent and you'll have to wait until you have a chat with the doctor. Im a pretty anxious person and im a little worried to be honest because obviously something has been spotted be it liver-wise or not which needs a looking at. The logical side of me is thinking non-urgent is technically a thing you'd rather hear but my anxious side is thinking they've found something im in big trouble why else would I have to come back in! Im not clued up on doctor terminology at all so im unsure to what 'non-urgent' really means in this case, could someone with more experience shine a light on this, or some kind words of support to calm a very worried mind? 😔

I think non-urgent means there is nothing to be overly concerned about - because if there was there would be an urgency about seeing you and following up. If they had found anything majorly significant it wouldn't be you chasing them but them chasing you. (When they found things on my hubbies ultrasound we had a phonecall the next day to say there were arranging urgent follow up scans).

Hopefully your appointment isn't too far away and you can sit down and have a chat over what exactly the scan has shown.

Keep calm as much you can. Doctors wouldn't leave you dangling if they had found anything too major or significant.
