In simple terms the 'porta hepatis' is the groove in the liver through which all the major blood vessels & ducts (the portal vein, the hepatic artery and the bile duct) enter/exit the liver. Prominent nodularity would indicate you have some lumpy, bumpy texture of the liver going on in that area hence doctors need to follow up to establish what these lumpy bumps are & what their cause is.

No one on here can guess or diagnose conditions that has got to be down to your medical team who have you, all your tests and results in front of them. BUT there are numerous conditions which can cause nodularity in this area of the liver and they are not all sinister - it may well be down to your pre-existing PBC so let the doctors do their follow up and fingers crossed you get answers very soon.

Hi

I have exactly the same after US, CT and MRI it is decided that it’s a lymph node more likely to be related to PBC. It really worried me at first but the size is monitored and I’m confident in my consultant.

I hope that helps.
