Fibroscan offered

I'm not sure if everyone who is registered with British Liver Trust received this email or not. So I thought I would share it on here for those interested. Looks like they are offering a free FibroScan on a first come first serve basis.  Here's the body of the email:

Love Your Liver Update!

 31 March 2016

We are delighted to announce our next community Love Your Liver health event.

2016 saw us start the new year with a very successful trip to Norwich where we screened over 100 people. We are delighted to announce that our next Love Your Liver community event will be held in Macclesfield on Thursday 28th April 2016.

We will be in The Old Sunday School Heritage Centre, Roe Street, Macclesfield SK11 6UT. We will be supported by the liver team from Macclesfield District Hospital and will be there from 10am to 4pm offering screening and scanning (on a first come first served basis).

Staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer general liver health questions and guide you through our online screener. We will be able to offer a Fibroscan liver check on a first come first served basis. Please come as early as you can as these events can be very popular; scanning may be restricted earlier than 4pm.

If you have any concerns at all about your liver health, please don’t wait for a Love Your Liver event, do talk to your GP or pharmacist. Visit our website at britishlivertrust.org.uk for information and support on all aspects of liver health.

Having a Fibroscan privately can cost £200-£300. As a registered charity we can only deliver our services thanks to donations. To support our work, please make a donation today. Thank you.

Oh thats interesting thank you Wendy.  Thats about 4 miles from my house, ha ha, and as yet there has been no local publicity that i have noticed locally.

I wont take up a place though, as that would be greedy as i am already well monitored.  I wonder why they have chosen here as our local NHS hospital about a mile from where they will be doing this event has its own Fibroscan machine.

Very Welcome. How thoughtful of you with not taking a spot as to help others. 😊

I'm in the United States and wish we had some events like that here.  I know even with my private paid health insurance (I pay $522 per month for) I still have to pay $350 for a Fibroscan. I have one scheduled in three weeks.

Thanks Bolly. I always enjoy reading your posts and always learn something new too.
