After treatment completion has anyone ... - Breast Cancer India
After treatment completion has anyone taken a long flight ( international)? Can I have some advice from her please?
I hope some survivor replies to this question.
rgci13, I have had a few patients who were not from Mumbai. I operated them, they were here for 2 weeks, and then flew back, without any consequence. Though, of course, all were from India and so maximum flight time would be two hours.
But I guess, long flight should not pose any problem at all. Keep giving you operated hand some regular movement, I guess.
My flight is only 3 hrs to Abu Dhabi, so guess should not be a problem . My surgeon of RGCI, Rohini has advised me to wear the compressed garment on the operated hand, and I am wearing it almost everyday fir an hour or two for practice. -:))))))
Hi....
Sorry for my prolonged absence from this awesome group. I have been busy with finals and my schedule is still pretty crazy.
I have flown from US to India quite a few times. I have a lymphedema sleeve that I wear and so far I haven't had any problems at all. I hope this helps.

Hi shikhacanfight, to tell the truth I was eagerly waiting for a reply from you since I thought you must have flown from US. Thanks for your . I too have the compressed sleeve which I am going to wear during the flight. Thanks a ton for giving me the needed strength and confidence. Thanks again.
I took a 36 hour flight to the US after completion of the treatment.
No problems.
Just to prove to myself that all is well I also did a skydive from 15,00 feet from an aircraft and the experience was the most awesome one of my life.
Do not worry - Go ahead n book your flight to wherever.
Baku you made my day today! Thank you so much. Just tell me one thing did you wear the compression garment on the affected arm? I have one and am practising everyday for morning /evening - and looking forward to the holiday.
Baku are you in Delhi by any chance?
