How often do you exercise?
Please select one:
I have difficulty with walking and balance so the only excersise I can do is on the bed. Used to love walking but even walking round the house is hard as I need to hold onto the furniture. I have CMT and arthritis.
Hi there strawberryshortcake, I can't exercise as most people do either, and its so frustrating. I have shattered my spine but I still answered 3-6 times a week , as I walk, albeit slowly, as much as I can. It would be so easy for me to just lay down as everything hurts even though I'm on morphine patches, but I make myself do something or I can't move at all. My blood pressure is always better if I do manage a walk. IKEA is brilliant to walk round as there's toilets and the restaurant that I can keep going back to. I couldn't go on a long walk without as I need to sit down very frequently. Shopping is the easiest way for me to exercise and I'm so lucky that my husband, who cares for me, enjoys shopping too, how lucky is that. I realise that a lot of people can't do anything at all and that's so sad. I do hope you have a lovely weekend. Best wishes to you.
My doctors never told me how being ill and unfit and how inportant is you dont strain you rectus stomach muscule.
Needless to say i did mine in and now have stomach issues and pain AND becouse of my condition dont look like its going to get better any time soon
I am Cali111 72yrs old and like you have issues with exercise. It is never too late to start. I am awaiting a cardioversion and two shoulder ops. I bought a set of DVD from eldergym who is on You Tube and have not looked back. I could only do about 30 seconds to start and some not at all, but persevere, it is not about cure it is about improvement in your life and pain, it has helped me when I thought I was finished
CalvinHU - can you explain what you mean by exercise, please? Do you mean gym-type-exercise? I was doing a brisk half hour daily walk pre medication for high blood pressure and it doesn't matter which medication I try, they all affect my walking, causing muscle pain after about 15 minutes, plus the latest pill to be trialled is making me short of breath to the extent that I am unable to talk and walk at the same time.
