yes, i could phone NHS direct, thankyou. The steroids have given me a big appetite, so i have been eating lots more than usual, so that probably doesnt help the indigestion!, i am seeing my doctor next week, as a follow up from coming off the steroids, so i will mention to her. Thankyou for replying.

there I was thinking that it was just me with the restless legs!!

yes, ive had that too, had swollen feet too. i guess we all get different symptons and side effects with medication.

yes i get heartburn indegestion and cramp when on them ,i take omeprazole for the heartburn which helps. also are yours the red or white tabs. the red tabs are enteric coated which protects your stomach. try taking at same time as food not on empty stomach

the ones i'm just finishing are the little white uncoated ones. ive had red before which were coated and they didnt give me heartburn.Yes, i try to make sure i take them when just eaten. Thankyou for replying, even though we all differ , it's good to share experiences.

Ah, the white ones... I get a terrible tum if I take those, so have to insist on coated prednisolone, but, as you say, we are all different and react in different ways.

The NHS have advised doctors to prescribe the uncoated type as they are a fraction of the price, only giving the red coated ones to those patients who have had a bad reaction.

Worth mentioning to your GP when you go back, so they know for next time.

When i went to the hosp to use nebuliser they gave me 8 red ones, but sent me home with white. (cost as you say, obviously). I have been sucing rennies that help.I shall mention to my doctor though. It's not pleasant, dont sleep much as it is, so this heartburn doesnt help. Anyway have just finished this course of prednisolone so hopefully my digestion will get back to normal. I stopped smoking a month ago ( it's hell trying to cope with craving), but i am determined not to start again.

Usually you are prescribed omeprazole with prednisolone because they do give you indigestion. Speak to your GP about getting hold of some.

Thankyou Marie, yes, will mention to my doctor next week. ive been using rennies, but if i can have something on prescription, that would be better.

Thankyou for advice. I will take heed. As you say, things affect people differently, but it's good to hear peoples opinions.

I don't get any side effects with Pred. No farting or burping. :)

Heartburn and reflux come with COPD for quite a few people, I have it but it didn't start with the COPD, it came later. I take Omeprazole all the time and only experienced gale force winds for the first couple of weeks until the body got used to them! Pred. does not affect me like that.

Ask your GP for the soluble version of prednisolone, they stopped all my indegestion problems, even the hospital give them to me without a problem. They do cost a little more (so they tell me), but they are not on a banned list and really do help.

ok, thankyou. I didnt know that you could have prednisolone in soluble form. i will ask my GP.
