Do face masks really protect us from Coronavirus? A pharmacist's viewpoint.

Just heard an interview on my local radio station with a pharmacist who sells face masks. He said they wouldn't necessarily give much protection because A: they aren't a very good fit.

B: the general public don't change them frequently enough compared to health professionals.

He is probably right, but you can use disposable masks and these can be adjusted to give a reasonable fit. It can help to stop the germs on your face if people are coughing and not using a tissue or event their hands. If this coronavirus gets into the Manchester public I will be wearing a mask thats for sure and have a box of disposable ones just in case and will throw it away every time I wear one . Every little helps I suppose x

A face mask i.e. used in hospitals is useless after around 30 minutes🤔

In fact masks worn for long periods breed and encourage bugs to grow.
