depandant on how far she can walk and what her alspproblems are if mum is on PIP or DLA mobility she should be allowed a badge also the vehicle owner who takes your mom about could also aply for disabled registration if granted you should be exempt from road tax

Sorry, but you’re not exempt from Road Tax by having a Blue Badge! You have to fit into a certain benefit category to get that.

obviously you are right these days (not in the orange ones though) your health and mobility is the reason for the BB also if you have to park nearer your goal say outside your own front door and also have to park nearer your target would you be able to apply for road fund releif but in this day and age of people abusing the system, are things a lot harder than when I started with a orange badge I remember in those days we had our own group who would rat on you for the slightest sign of abuse, I think we were eletists then who knew how and how not to use your parking badge.

I had an Orange Badge too. Still got an orange clock tucked away somewhere!

I also remember if non badge holders parked in the disabled bays in Sainsbury’s they would stick a huge sticker on the drivers door window to tell them not to! They were quite hard to peel off too so as it could be seen for ages that you’d disobeyed the rules. Wish they did this now as people in my local supermarkets think they can park where they wish. Blue badge or no blue badge. Child or no child. Park where’ve takes your fancy!

we had leaflets to put under window screen wipers they were to the point "YOU HAVE PARKED IN A DISABLED BAY" would you like my disability as well?

As anthony634 explains, it depends on how her condition affects her, not what it is called. If she has problems with her mobility then she can certainly apply for a Blue Badge.

Hi

Easy answer is to complete the application form available on line.

Mobility is how far you can walk before becoming breathlessness or suffer pain, not excruciating but the offset.

gov.uk/apply-blue-badge

If unsure about any question you can save the application and come back to lt, when you have the correct information.

The information given is right, it's how badly it affects your mobility. However if you don't feel able to complete the form (they can be a bit scary if it's your first) contact your local age uk centre they will fill in the form for you. Good luck if you get turned down keep applying!!! X

Just to add, it's important to fill in the form giving information as to how your mum is on her worst days.

I've applied for a badge, not heard yet. I can trudle gently round Lidl. The really difficult bit is getting the bags from the car to the house, it's about 30ft and exhausting, always surprises mean

thats like me i get to aldi it takes me that long to get round but then at the checkout i exhaust myself putting them in my trolley and just wheeling the trolley to the car i cant do it now i go in and just buy 2-4 items depending how heavy then i put them in the trolly ake to the car then take my trolly back im done in but i have blue badge but im still done in just makes it that bit easier i have found that to carry a bag is harder than to carry one on your shoulder all my bags now are shoulder bags i have even stopped carrying handbag

I'd like a blue badge so I can park near the door, I don't think I will get one even though my consultant said Of course you should get one. I don't know how long the decision takes.

well just renewed my BB and had help with it by a council official, when it came to mobility I said if I was dropped at the door of my doctors for example I could manage to walk in with the aid of my crutches, he never put that down on the form, I got my blue badge this morning.
